TIES is a consortium of 38 Minnesota school districts that provides technology services and support. The Learning and Technology Division provides professional development services in technology integration and software training on a wide variety of technology. Learning and Technology trains over 4000 people every year and hosts over 400 workshops at it’s training center.
TIES Learning and Technology also hosts the annual TIES Technology Conference. This year’s conference is scheduled for December 8-9, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis Hotel and Convention Center. Pre-conference workshops will be December 6-7, also at the Hyatt. TIES Annual Technology Conference attracts over 2000 participants with nationally know speakers, 140 breakout sessions and 40 pre-conference workshops. The call for proposals for sessions is currently open through July 1 at the TIES web page: www.ties.k12.mn.us.

Background
TIES was created as Technology Information Education Services in 1967 to provide technology and information resources to school administrators, educators and students. It is now known solely by the acronym TIES.

Our Mission
The mission of TIES, a dynamic consortium of Minnesota school districts and the leader in E-12 education technology, is to ensure our members can optimize student learning by:
- Promoting a collaborative relationship among member districts
- Providing critical instructional and operational technology products and services
- Conducting research and development
Governance
- Two representatives from each member district serve on the TIES Joint Board.
- Nine members of the Joint Board make up the Executive Committee, which implements and administers the policies of the governing Joint Board.
